Dr. Jackson's Welcome Back Message

Parents and Students,

Welcome to the 22-23 school year! It is good to be back in the building again, even as we continue to rebound from the pandemic. The one noticeable difference that we have this year when compared to the previous year is that we have no virtual instruction on this campus. We are back to school as we knew it prior the COVID-19 global phenomenon. I can assure you that we have emerged as a better unit of instruction.

Trust me when I tell you that there is no need to panic. Even though we have lost valuable time over the years when it comes to face -to - face instruction, we are prepared to identify and close any gaps that we observe with our students. Understand, however, that this is a process that takes time and teamwork. So, it is imperative that you all take the time to supplement the instruction that occurs at home. The easiest way to do this is to ensure that our scholars are reading for at least twenty minutes a day. In addition, making sure that they complete homework assignments will go a long way in keeping them primed and ready for daily instruction in the building. If they do not receive homework from their teachers, you can always reach out to their teachers for extra assignments or websites for free tutorials that run parallel to the standards being taught in their classrooms.

As you may have noticed, parents are allowed back in the buildings as long as they are wearing masks. Please keep this in mind as you come in for early checkouts, late check-ins, conferences, etc. We still have student masks, hand sanitizer, Lysol wipes and other supplies to help with mitigation efforts. I would like to thank you in advance for your commitment to safety here at the Kingdom on a daily basis.

So, as we grow on this 175 - day journey that remains before us, I wanted to share a few items that can help us all if we keep them in mind:

  • Our instructional day begins at 7:45 a.m.
  • You can check students out early until 1:45p.m.
  • Please call the front office when you need to change your child’s daily transportation.
  • Campus Kids is available from 3:00 - 6:30 p.m. daily.
  • Students should be in uniform every Monday – Thursday.
  • Please consider joining PTO.
  • Our school’s website address is 135.clayton.k12.ga.us
  • Clear book bags are mandatory for all CCPS students.
  • Please send your student to school with a refillable water bottle daily.
  • If your child takes medication, please ensure it is on file in our clinic.

Thank you all for your attention to this communication.  Should you have any questions or concerns please call the school at 770-991-4651. In addition, administration can be reached at the following email addresses:
